April 8, 1909   fine. sowed the oats at home. Maggie, Irene and i went to Detroit. John Barrett and Ella Campbell married. Mary and Willard to the weding. we stopped at John Cooks.
April 9, 1909   good friday. little snow. windy. Willard ploughing at Johnies. 4 lambs. us to Albert Weeks for dinner and to Tillies houses for supper.
April 10, 1909   fine. cold. drawing out manure. George got a load of hay. Johnie got load corn stalks. a man got some hay. Ellas folks all came here. us to the Detroit market and to an opera and to Wil Cooks for supper. stoped with John Cooks.
April 11, 1909   Easter Sunday. fine. George Cook and Miss King here. Ellas went home. Maggie, Irene and i to St Clair to Dan Mills and back to John Cooks.
April 12, 1909   fine. windy. 3 lambs. boys put up some wire fence. us to Belle ile park and came to John Burridges (Windsor).
April 13, 1909   rain and snow. we came home from John Burridges.

April 19, 1909   fine. cool. rain last night. putting up rail fence at north end of gravel ridge. Isaac paid $100.00 on principal and $175.00 interest on mortgage. 10 callers.
April 20, 1909   fine. rooling on the meadow. Mr Knight and i burning apple tree brush. Alf Spencer borrowed the plough.
April 21, 1909   rain. paid Mabels and Irenes high school fees. sold Clinkersmiths hay. i sent for Herbal Renovator.
April 22, 1909   fine. ploughed the garden. planted 5 rows of potatoes. got 250 bricks from John Hitch for Kitchen chimney.

April 30, 1909   fine. warm. took 2 loads beans to Mr Newman. got 10 barrel of cement from Geo Poag 1.60 per bar. i to Mr Hufmans funeral. George got a load of hay. S Clark brought the evergreens. Mr Lenintine here.

May 18, 1909   fine. Mr Poags finished the cement wall. sheared the sheep. i helping Johnie shear his sheep afternoon. Willard rooling afternoon. got roast of beef.

July 30, 1909   fine. fixing grade up to barn doors on east side. finished cutting oats and shocking them here. got 100 lbs of flour 3.00. Mary, Irene and Maggie Precious out to Isaacs picking berries.
July 31, 1909   fine. putting water pipes in to conect with tank and hidron. Phil Green cutting thistles and hoeing beans. i settled up with Phil Green to Date. 14 days $21.00 and he owed me 8.50. i got $25.00 out of bank. got photoes of the house, barn and wheat field. paid Lue Ruth for fixing water pipes. Ben Cook here last night.

August 20, 1909   fine. getting threshing wood ready and mowing the yard and weeds along the road. i asking threshing hands. Isaacs baby Gorden is better.
August 21, 1909   fine. us threshing 466 bush of wheat 11 1/4 acres. 207 bush oats 4 3/4 acres. Ken McDonald thresher.

August 24, 1909   fine. warm. took George Poag load of straw. cleaning up around the straw stack and behind the shed. Willard cutting weeds around the fence afternoon. i up town. a letter came from Josephine Cook.

October 11, 1911   fine until half past five pm. all of us to the fair but Mary and Irene. Henry and George Martin, James and Lydia Cook and Ella and John Marn and children here.
October 12, 1911   fine. us all to the Ridgetown fair. Sold Bill, a 3 year old colt, to Philip Drayton from Fort William 195.00. John and Joe Simpson, George Weeks, Mr Yates, Mr McGregor here. 10 men came over in Mr Yates automobile. we got 8 prizes at the fair.
October 13, 1911   fine. Willard brought out here 7 barrels of winter apples. got 6 bags of wheat ground for pigs and cow. got lumber for 3 door frames and 10 barrels cement for horse stable at the farm.
October 14, 1911   fine. getting ready for cement work under stable at the farm. Willard helping. Isaac picking up the apples. i took 3 bags of apples to Phil Green.
October 15, 1911   Sunday. fine. us to M. church. George Gilbert and Rose here.
October 16, 1911   fine. got 100 lbs G. Shuggar 6.25 and 50c of B. Shuggar.
October 17, 1911   rain all day. i took 2 bush apples to Craigs.
October 18, 1911   fine. Geo. Farnsworth building cement wall under the horse barn at the farm. got 10 barrels cement [... ]

October 19, 1911   fine. Fansworth finished the wall under the horse stable at the farm. Willard helping thresh afternoon at Percy Gosnells. Mabel and Irene to Moravian fair.
October 20, 1911   fine. dug the potatoes at the farm. Wil Craner helping.
October 21, 1911   fine. Willard brought out a load of potatoes and put them in the sellar. got 3 cedar posts for horse stalls. weaning the lambs.

October 23, 1911   fine. bought a shovel. put 5 1/2 loads of stone in feed manger under the barn at the farm.
October 24, 1911   fine. got a butcher knife. drawing dirt in the feed manger under the barn. 9 loads.
October 25, 1911   fine. Johnie and Willard got a sheep from John Barrett. we took the blocking out from under the horse stable. Jack Simpson called at the farm.
October 26, 1911   fine. drew 3 loads of dirt for the horse stable floor. Geo. Fawnsworth and his 2 men working at the cement afternoon.
October 27, 1911   little rain. Willard helping George thresh beans. Geo. Fawnsworth and his 2 men putting in cement floors.
October 28, 1911   fine. frose ice last night. Geo. Fansworth finished the cement work. got 3 barrel cement. we butchered a pig.

October 30, 1911   little rain at evening. Willard drew 3 loads of cement gravel to Ridgetown. Johnie Stevenson and i to Johnies and to Isaacs and Georgies. Lydia Parish went home.
October 31, 1911   fine. rain last night. i took John Stevenson to Wil Readers. he went home. i to the conservative convention. Phil Boyer got the nomination. Mr and Mrs Henry Spencer here. Edward Brien paid the interest on the Brien mortgage. George got 34 lbs of pork. Willard started to plough.
November 1, 1911   some rain. ploughing. i paid Geo Fansworth for cement work. paid Goohue for cement.
November 2, 1911   fine. cold. Willard and i putting siding on the stable.

Henry Martins reciete for a cough
2 quarts hickery bark to 1 gallon of water. boil to 1 quart, then add 1 cup white shuggar, then boil to a syrup. Dose 1 teaspoonful

Reciete for bitters
2 quarts wild chery bark, 1 1/2 quts popular bark. put in an earthen pot. pore 1 gal boiling water on and set it on the stove to simer about 24 hours. Dose half a cup

Recite for lump Jaw cattle
2 drams Iodide of pottassium. put in a bottle with 1 pint of water. it will make 12 doses. one to be given every day for 6 days then 1 every other day in a pint of water

Reciete for peach trees
Boiled oil 1 quart. rosin 4 lbs. beeswax 1/2 lb. boil them together and paint the trees

Reciete horse colic
1 teaspoonful red peper, 2 teaspoon turpentine. give in a pint of warm water

Reciete cattle bloat - give 1 pint of white lye
